The HomeOwnership Center is hiring a part time Program Assistant.
The Program Assistant provides support to the Executive Director, Loan Originator, Home Ownership Advisor and other HOC contracted staff, and helps ensure a smooth process for customers from intake to final service delivery. The position requires an energetic individual who is comfortable working in a consumer-friendly environment assisting customers of all income levels to access home ownership opportunities. The Rotary Club of Elkins heard about how the HomeOwnership Center serves citizens of north central West Virginia during their regular meeting Monday.
Kate Somers, executive director of the HomeOwnership Center, said the center is celebrating 20 years of service this week, after first being established in 1998.

HomeOwnership Center Invites Former Customers to June Celebration
There is lots to celebrate this month at the HomeOwnership Center. June is national home ownership month, and as would be expected, this always is a matter of celebration at the HomeOwnership Center. One way the organization celebrates each year is by cutting in half the cost of their home buyer education workshop for the month. The first week of June is National NeighborWorks Week, and as a NeighborWorks member organization, the HomeOwnership Center is happy to promote this year’s theme of Advancing Opportunity, as this is what they strive to do every day for area residents who are seeking the opportunity to become home owners.

ELKINS — Sometimes a little information can go a long way. For nearly 900 households in the region, information that came from the HomeOwnership Center Inc. helped them buy a house.
The HomeOwnership Center has been offering personalized financial advising, credit analysis and mortgage loans for 20 years, and during that time it often has been the difference between a family buying a home or not.

The HomeOwnership Center is happy to welcome Carrie Shupp to its staff as its new Home Ownership Advisor. In this position, Carrie will meet with each of the HomeOwnership Center’s customers to provide them the personalized attention and guidance they need to navigate the home buying process and to become successful home owners.

The HomeOwnership Center is hiring a Home Ownership Advisor.
The Home Ownership Advisor (Housing Counselor) is responsible for providing comprehensive, individual housing counseling services to customers, consistent with the organization’s mission, and in compliance with regulatory/funding requirements. The Advisor assists potential homebuyers in overcoming the roadblocks that prevent them from purchasing a home, which may include budgeting, credit and financial counseling. The Advisor also conducts Home Buyer and Home Owner Education workshops in a group setting.
