What To Expect When Closing On Your Home

So, you’ve completed the mortgage application process, found and snagged your dream, and now you’re ready for CLOSING DAY!

But what can you expect at closing?

Typically, the closing process will take place at your chosen attorney’s office, where you will need to sign several disclosures and other required documents for the lender.

NOTE: The closing disclosure outlines the details of your mortgage loan.

You will also need to pay any closing fees, which you will be told the total amount prior to the closing.

Once fees have been paid and documents signed, your deed will be recorded, and the property will be transferred to your name.

You’ll then receive the keys to YOUR HOME!

Factors that can cause delays on closing on your home:

  • Low appraisal: An appraisal ensures that the sale price of the home aligns with its fair market value.
  • Unable to secure financing
  • Contingency-related issues – problems found with the house, financing challenges, etc.
  • Title issues

At the HomeOwnership Center, we make it easy to get through the homebuying process, and we stick by your side from the initial appointment to closing day!
