2014 Notable Accomplishments

  • Celebrated the 16th anniversary of the HomeOwnership Center’s incorporation.
  • Provided housing counseling or education to 279 families.

  • Provided 628 total hours of housing counseling and education.

  • Originated or facilitated 37 loans for mortgage or home repair assistance.

  • Facilitated the sale of 35 houses for predominately first-time home buyers, including houses constructed or rehabbed by area partner agencies Randolph County Housing Authority, Woodlands Development Group, Highland Community Builders, and Mountain CAP.

  • Continued successful HOC Leveraged Loan Program with area lenders assisting 27 new, first-time homebuyers with down payment/closing costs.

  • Continued participation in a USDA RD502 Direct Packaging Program successfully assisting four homebuyers.

  • Managed HomeOwnership Center revolving loan portfolio of 115 active borrowers with active loans totaling more than $704,000.

  • Received more than $157,000 in new or renewed grant funding support.
